Coping with a Disability

To help you cope more easily with everyday life it's possible for a disabled person to get help from Social Care and Health (formerly Social Services). The type of help might be equipment to assist in getting around or perhaps an adaptation to your home, such as a grab rail. To get this help would depend on the degree of your disability. Find out more on equipment available.

BBCi's Video Nation has a number of videos you can look at about people with disabilities. It's an opportunity for people with disabilities to share their views and let others know how they cope with everyday life. You can look at the latest videos or archive. Why not take part?

Your local Age Concern might be able to help too.
