We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people who are keen to work with us to train to become volunteer advisers.

Information; Advice; Advocacy and Representation to the public in Tameside.

People’s problems come in all shapes and sizes. Whether it’s benefits or health issues; debt or employment; listening to clients, gathering details, and researching information to help them to manage their problem can make a real difference to the lives of local people.

Social Policy Volunteer

Frustrated by bureaucracy?

Want to change things for the better?

Joining the Tameside Citizens Advice Bureau team

as a Social Policyvolunteer helping to get things changed, might be for you.

You must be committed to fairness, justice and equity

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people who are keen to work with us to improve standards of services whether it is locally or nationally.

Social Policy work uses the statistical evidence from CAB clients experiences and uses that evidence to encourage changes in legislation or to improve poor practice.

Whether it’s benefits or health issues; debt or employment gathering evidence from our clients and presenting it to decision makers, can make a real difference to the lives of local people.

An example of a recent success in social policy work is in getting a section added to the new housing bill to cover a Tenants Deposit Scheme. This safeguards tenants from unscrupulous landlords illegally keeping their deposit at the end of the Tenancy.
