Age Concern UK is a great resource and has produced a some factsheets. The End of life series give detailed information about about:

  • Planning for a funeral
  • Advance statements, directives and living wills

It also holds information about funeral plans and will writing.

The BBC has a large coverage on bereavement. Some of the topics covered include:

  • Terminal illness - can you ever prepare for the inevitable?

Carers in Tameside

The Carers in Tameside website has information on bereavement. where you can read about:

A charitable organisation to help older people. Help the Aged website has introduced four funeral plans with inflation-proof guarantees.

Manchester Area Bereavement Forum

Manchester Area Bereavement Forum (MABF) is a bereavement support and training organisation set up by volunteers in 1993 to offer support to people experiencing loss and those caring agencies involved in bereavement work within a variety of professional and non-professional settings.

Pension Service

The Pension Service website has details about Bereavement benefits which were introduced for men and women from 9 April 2001. This system will not affect women who were already getting benefits under the previous widows benefit scheme as long as they continue to qualify under the rules.
